Hello, my name is Amanda Elswick.
First of all, I am Momma to two sweet and beautiful little girls. They are my reason, for everything I do. I have been married to my husband since 2012, and he is my support that I lean on, in every new challenge I take on. I like to think of myself as an artist. I have been drawing, painting, and creating since I was old enough to remember. One of my biggest joys today, is sharing this passion with my own daughters.
I have been doing photography in one form or another since around 2007, when I was just a teenager trying to explore it as an art form. My love of photography all started with a Saturday morning ritual, where my dad and I would drive out through the countryside and we would find pretty landscapes that I could photograph. He was my fully supportive, and perfectly enthusiastic driver, and I was able to be my full creative self. I will always cherish those early Saturday morning drives and I don't know if he will ever know how much they meant to me.
In about 2011-2012, I started doing portraits for friends and family, so that I could get as much practice in as possible. In that same time period, my parents ran a wedding venue, in which I worked along side of them. I helped with everything from meeting with clients, planning and prepping for the big day, set up and even clean up crew. I dabbled in everything from catering to cake decorating as well. I've even been known to make a wedding cake or two. Through all of that time, I still kept my passion for photography. It was a great tool for learning the ins and the outs of weddings, as I had plenty of opportunities to practice taking pictures of all those pretty wedding details and all the gorgeous couples. Throughout that time, my confidence really grew, and I decided to start offering wedding photography myself.
Through the years, I have gone in a few different directions with my career, due to starting my journey as a parent and doing what was best for them at that time. I have worked off and on in my career as a photographer for the past 12 years and have been blessed to have been able to photograph so many weddings, families, couples and many others, along the way.
I am so happy that I am able to continue to do what I love. I am excited to see what the next step will be for my career as a photographer, and I can't wait to work with you!
